The Giving Tree

We are living in the middle of some crazy times finacially in this country. The last few months have been insane as the stock market has continued to dive and the goverment is scrambling to figure how to handle a bailout. With the finacial situation of our country as a backdrop we are about to launch into a new series at Cedarcrest on giving. I realize that this seem like the worst time in the world to talk about giving. Everyone is cutting back on spending, many people are trying to scrape by, and on top of it all CHristmas is only one month away. How can anyone possibly afford to give?

Because it seems like the worst possible time to talk about giving is part of the reason I am so excited about this new series. When things seem impossible is when God can show us what is only possible through Him. Over the next month we are going to take an honest look at what the bible says about giving in hopes that we can live a life that is radically different from the culture around us. We are also going to introduce several giving projects that you can be involved in. Come join us as we begin to look at “The Giving Tree.”
